Esprit Imagine for Her combines sparkling pink pepper, purple heliotrope, osmanthus, white nectarine, bourbon vanilla and musk. Esprit Imagine for Him, on the other hand, is composed of bitter orange, lemon, coffee beans, violet, geranium, woods and vetiver.

The accords express a full-bodied fragrance that invokes sensual touch and a mysterious depth. The flacon is a clear block of glass with wave-like design at the bottom. It is as though the perfume is floating on a sea of waves.

Carolina Herrera reveals its summer fragrance this year for 212 – 212 Ice and 212 Ice Men. These limited edition fragrances explore the sensual and provocative side of 212.

212 Ice is composed of bergamot, grapefruit, rose, red forest fruits, sandalwood and musk while 212 Ice features black pepper,licorice, violet, woods and musk. 212 Ice and 212 Ice Men will be available in 60ml and 100ml eau de toilette.

Estee Lauder re-introduces Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche in time for summer. This fragrance lauds the heat of the sun and centers on amber. It will be available this April in 100ml bottle.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Bouquet Numero 1...

Guerlain Bouquet Numero 1 is Guerlain’s latest ode to spring. Created by perfumer Thierry Wasser, this fragrance offers a new interpretation of Aqua Allegoria.

The scent was inspired by a dewy spring garden at dawn. The fragrance notes are white flowers, delicate fruit notes, jasmine, peach, freshly cut grass and bergamot. The flacon is the same signature Aqua Allegoria bottle but this version is embellished with gold trimmings.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Bouquet Numero 1 will be available on April 2010 in 75ml and 125ml eau de toilette.

Nina Ricci Le Paradis de Nina...

Nina Ricci will let you rediscover the Nina paradise with this new limited edition fragrance called Nina Ricci Le Paradis de Nina.

This fragrance is a reinterpretation of the original Nina fragrance inspired by the aroma of French Madeline cake. Other notes in the composition are orange, mandarin, almond blossom, gardenia, woods and vanilla. The concept of Le Paradis de Nina is origami. It wants to evoke a garden of paper, full of dreams and fantasy like that of a contemporary fairy-tale princess.

Le Paradis de Nina will be available in retail on April 2010 in 50ml eau de toilette.

Jo Malone Cologne Intense Collection...

The Jo Malone perfume collection unveils the latest quartet of fragrances inspired by the scents of the Middle East – Amber & Patchouli, Oud & Bergamot, Rose Water & Vanilla and Iris & White Musk – the Jo Malone Cologne Intense Collection.

According to Jo Malone Global General Manager Dominic de Vetta, “this is one of many projects coming up that will open a new chapter in the development of Jo Malone. We want Cologne Intense in particular to be a fragrance collection that goes deeper and richer.” Perfumer Christine Nagel worked with the Jo Malone Creative Studio to create the new quartet. The fragrance house’s commitment to olfactory diversity resonates in these new fragrances.

Some of the perfumery’s oldest and richest ingredients  were given a modern interpretation to make it more appealing to the Western customer.

The Jo Malone Cologne Intense Collection are:

- Amber & Patchouli combines two very different, opulent ingredients into one harmonious whole, according to the brand. A special distillation process has created a patchouli note with a supple, suede-like finish. The end result is a seductive, spicy, woody fragrance.

- Oud & Bergamot is described as a fresh interpretation of the dark, hypnotic scent of oud, derived from the heartwood of the aquilaria tree. Other key ingredients include bergamot and an orange granite accord based on natural extracts of lemon and orange.

- Rose Water & Vanilla is billed as a 21st century translation of the traditional Arabian Rose Mokhalat, imbued with a modern Jo Malone edge. The rose and vanilla are complemented by neroli overlain with the sweet, floral woodiness of petitgrain.
- Iris & White Musk was born out of the desire to create a fragrance around the Iris root – the most expensive ingredient in perfumery. Other key ingredients include musk and Casablanca lily.

Lolita Lempicka Eau de Desir...

Lolita Lempicka takes a break from gourmand and explores the freshness of citrus accords with its latest scent, Lolita Lempicka Eau de Desir.

Or so I thought.

The initial burst of citron is quite tricky. At first impression, you would surmise that Lolita Lempicka Eau de Desir is a citrus-based fragrance. But wait, as the top notes gradually subside, there enters the original Lolita Lempicka, less sweet and more powdery.

This orchestration grows in intensity to a crescendo: an initial burst of cool citron-verbena, structured like a “cologne”, transition to fabulous heart notes of violet and jasmine sambac, which gave way to the languorous charms of musk. - perfumslolitalempicka.com

The flacon comes in the usual vine-embellished theme. This version, however, include gold intricacies in the design. Lolita Lempicka Eau de Desir is available in 100ml eau de toilette.

Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile...

Acqua di Parma will launch a limited edition of Iris Nobile on April 2010. Opulence and elegance best described this new fragrance. The concept is a re-interpretation of the classic chypre accord that melds with the elegant florals.

“The crystalline top notes consist of bergamot, mandarin and star anise. It unfolds in a fascinating middle note with a chord of iris blossoms and ylang-ylang, a rich floral bouquet. Finally, fascinated by the intense and warm base notes of patchouli and oak moss, vanilla extracts and ambrette seeds. (cosmoty.de)”

The flacon is a gold-colored glass with satin lining and gold lining to emphasize the skill that came along in concocting the fragrance. The cap is also gold plated to equally match the golden bottle. Suffice to say, Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile is one of a kind elegance inside out.

Yves Rocher Flowerparty...

Fruit is in itself is already sweet but a fruity-gourmand? Wouldn’t that be an overkill? Now, add some more floral notes in the composition. It may seem an olfactory confusion at first. But let’s give Yves Rocher’s Flowerparty the benefit of the doubt.

“A fruity scent that opens with a sparkling burst of mandarin orange and orange. After a tart start, the fragrance gets more of a pulpy/berry feel thanks to lychee and raspberry. Floral notes, including rose, lightly balance the fruitiness, then the gourmand spirit comes back in the dry-down in the guise of vanilla notes. (osmoz.com)”

Perfumer Philippe Romano explained,”Through the light and lively notes of lychee and raspberry that grant a mischievous charm, the luminous freshness unfolds right from the start and extends all the way through to the sensual base that makes it so addictive”.

Flowerparty is a happy scent filled with succulent notes of fresh fruits. The tarty citrus notes at the top makes it more lively.

The red bottle with the flower-shaped cap is reminiscent of March Jacobs’ Daisy sans the vinyl raw material. The red juice inside is so DKNY Red Delicious. Summery? Very much so. Also, the composition is the kind of fragrance young women would explore in a heartbeat.

Overall, Yves Rocher Flowerparty is for the flower-fanatic. The inclusion of fruits and gourmand accords created a nice balance throughout.

Citrus: The Zest Factor...

Citrus notes bring out the freshness and lightness in the fragrance. Combine this with the florals, the chypres, the woods and you’ll get a zesty, tarty  and uplifting scent that will wrap you in a soothing embrace.

Regardless of the season, citrus notes are prolific in the perfumery. It could be the focus of the entire composition or added in trickles to give the fragrance a boost of freshness. Citrus accords are based on lemon, orange, bergamot and grapefruit combined with other notes of the same olfactory group.

The citrus group is further broken down into citrus aromatic and citrus gourmand. Each sub-group consists of the usual citrusy accords blended with aromatic herbs (lavender, rosemary, mint) and gourmand notes (vanilla, caramel).

CK One Summer 2010

Mandarin orange dominates the fruity aquatic accords of CK One Summer 2010. Lush florals such as daisies, water lilies and violet leaves soften the heart while vetiver and cedar introduce a musky dry down. The orange-yellow colored flacon pairs with the sunny and summery character of the fragrance.

Chandler Burr calls Flower by Kenzo one of the most astonishing openings of a perfume in the market. In fact, the name Flower is quite a misdescription because it doesn’t smell like any known flower. “Flower could, in its initial unfolding on your skin, be called Stem. It smells not at all of the blossom but of the most marvelous delicate green stalk, fresh and tender, clipped in preparation for display”, added Burr. FlowerbyKenzo La Cologne, the spring fragrance for 2010,  is inspired by classic citrus notes such as bergamot, orange blossom and bitter orange.

Bath and Body Works Coconut Lime Verbana

This citrus gourmand fragrance is “inspired by island breeze of luscious fruits and crisp citrus, master perfumers have blended zesty lime and kumquat peel with mandarin, muguet and sheer coconut water (bathandbodyworks.com)” .  The fragrance notes are zesty lime, tart lemon verbana, ozone and kumquat peel.
